The Straw Shop is pleased to welcome French trained straw marquetry artist Violeta Galan who resides in the United Kingdom.
Ms. Galan’s style caught our eye. With a background of structural engineering her use of use of geometric patterns are uniquely her signature.
Ms. Galan shared the following:
” I create furniture and home accessories with a contemporary take on the traditional craft of straw marquetry. My pieces have a hint of retro as for straw marquetry design I take inspiration from op art, geometry and nature. Collaboration with skilled cabinetmakers make possible the realization of my projects. I do mostly commissioned work based on my design with slight variations.”
