The translated title is Straw Gardens,( the name given to straw mobiles in Lithuanian culture) the book offers the following definition: “A straw garden – a light symmetrical, geometrically shaped spatial construction made of straw and rotating on a thread. ” That definition opens all sorts of designs and many are shown.
The book, dives into the history, symbolism and meaning of Lithuanian straw gardens by four makers of straw gardens called “gold-handed binders”. The four gold-handed binders; straw masters Rasa Druziene, Zita Kumpeliene, Loreta Lichtaroviciene and Jurgita Treinyte graciously document history, instructions and illustrations to make various geometric shapes for mobiles/straw gardens and ornaments! In addition, the projects also come with a scan-able bar code for instructional videos. We have the wheat straw in 9 inch lengths for your projects in natural, bleached, and colors.
