The Straw Shop is delighted to offer this fine quality narrow hank of hand plaited wheat plait made in China. The plait, also known as 7-end, is approximately 10mm, 1/2 inch wide and a hank is approximately 50 yards (46 m) in length! Laichow refers to the region where it was once made and mottled refers to the light and dark color of the plait. It an ideal plait for plaiting into a wider pattern for hat bands, or wheat weavers will find this very useful for adding to larger pieces of their work. The longer hank length makes it ideal for basket makers who want to use is for larger pieces such as cribs, or repeating a series of baskets.
