Straw artist Jimmy Trujillo has done extensive research on the subject of straw marquetry history. He believes that the practice of this art in New Mexico (NM) predates the Pueblo Revolt of 1680. A multiple award winning artist, and recipient of the 2013 Master’s Award for Lifetime Achievement, Mr. Trujillo’s work is found in museums, private collections world -wide. His workshops, throughout the United States, have ensured the knowledge of encrusted straw art will continue.
